About the Supply Chain Institute
The purpose of The Supply Chain Institute (SCI) is to promote research, education, and industry outreach in the field of Supply Chain Management at The University of Alabama. The tremendous growth in the academic field of Supply Chain Management and in the manufacturing, distribution, procurement, and logistics activities within the state make it imperative that the university establish a means for promoting its expertise in SCM and for capitalizing on these growing opportunities. The institute will promote supply chain research activities and collaboration between faculty, students, and industry. The institute will provide oversight for all supply chain related academic and educational programs. The institute will foster networking and job placement support for students in these academic programs. The institute will also facilitate networking between supply chain management professionals, and the exchange of expertise and knowledge among professionals, faculty, and students.
