Scholarships
Thank you for your interest in the Cullverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration Scholarships. Our general scholarship committee along with our departmental committees work together each year to award a wide variety of scholarships. When selecting scholarship recipients the C&BA committees solely use the campus-wide scholarship application. The priority deadline for all C&BA scholarship applications from high school seniors and continuing undergraduate students is December 1 annually. The priority deadline for all new transfer students is March 1 annually. Unless, otherwise noted, the amounts of C&BA scholarships are variable and are awarded as funds are available. After submitting the appropriate application to the University's Scholarship Office, general questions about C&BA scholarships may be directed to:

Deadline

Students currently enrolled at The University of Alabama who are seeking
scholarship assistance, please login to http://mybama.ua.edu, click the "Academics" tab, and then look in the center column for the "Scholarships" box.
Transfer students interested in applying for available scholarships, please visit http://scholarships.ua.edu/transfer. The priority deadline for all new transfer students is March 1 annually.
Availability
Unless otherwise noted, C&BA scholarships are awarded as funds are available; moreover, every scholarship will not award new recipients each academic year.
Requirements
Each scholarship has different criteria, so requirements may include but are not limited to the following:
- GPA/ Test Scores
- Major/ Career Interests
- Location of Permanent Residence
- High School
- Leadership Experience/ Extracurricular Involvement
- First Generation College Students*
- Minority/ Increases Diversity on Campus*
- Physical Disability/ Overcome Physical Challenges*
*The applicant must self-identify these characteristics to be eligible for consideration for these specific awards.
The following is a list of the scholarships with more specific requirements; however, there is NOT a separate application for these awards. Please note, this is not an all-inclusive list of C&BA awards, nor does this list all of the requirements for each award. It is an overview of C&BA awards with detailed eligibility requirements.
- Anderson Family Foundation Scholarship- Applicants must be the dependent of an Anderson Company Associate and the maximum household earnings is not to exceed $75,000 per year. A supplemental Employment Verification Form must be submitted for consideration.
- Christopher L. Bass Memorial Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must be a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.
- Jean and John Cooper Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must reside in Dekalb, Jackson, or Marshall Counties in Alabama.
- Lt. Nathan Luke Cox, USMC Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must be high school graduates from Mobile or Baldwin County, AL. Preference goes to persons who honorably served in the U.S. Military.
- W. Allen Cox Endowed Commerce and Business Administration (C&BA) Scholarship- Applicants must reside in Mobile or Baldwin County, AL.
- George W. Dockery, Jr. and Lorraine (Sammie) Dockery Endowed C&BA Scholarship- Applicants must be dependents of OK Tire Store Employees. Second priority goes to high school graduates of Tuscaloosa County, AL.
- William Richard Easterling Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must be incoming freshmen who attended high school in Chilton County. Please contact high school guidance counselors for separate application.)
- Jay E. Emerson Sr. and Faye H. Emerson Memorial Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must be high school graduates of Jefferson or Madison County, AL.
- Conrad Fowler, Jr. Family Endowed Scholarship- First preference goes to graduates of Shelby High School in Columbiana, AL. Second preference goes to applicants from Shelby County, AL.
- Bobette and Lowell J. Friedman Scholarship- Applicants must be high school graduates of Mobile County, AL.
- Dan and Alberta Hallford Endowed C&BA Scholarship- Applicants must be Junior or Senior students from Alabama, Mississippi, or Tennessee.
- C.E. and Emily Hornsby C&BA Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must be Bibb County high school graduates.
- Alto Loftin Jackson Sr. Endowed Scholarship in the College of C&BA- First preference goes to Barbour or Dale County applicants. Second preference goes to applicants from Montgomery, Autauga, or Elmore County, AL.
- Louis V. Jackson Endowed C&BA Scholarship- Applicants must be graduates of Gadsden High School.
- W. Leon and Sara Price Jones Endowed C&BA Scholarship- Applicants must reside in Dallas County, AL.
- Yoshihito Kurose Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must show an interest in international affairs with a concentration on Japan.
- Phillip Allen and Cynthia Magnes Endowed C&BA Scholarship- Applicants must be graduates of Murphy High School in Mobile, AL.
- Aaron D. "Tennessee" Harris and Joseph Mallisham Endowed C&BA Scholarship- First preference goes to applicants who reside in Tuscaloosa County. Second preference goes to Alabama residents who are U.S. citizens.
- Lt. Colonel Clayton Aubry McAdams Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must be high school graduates of Fayette, Greene, Lamar, Pickens or Tuscaloosa County, AL.
- Patrick L. Murphree Memorial Scholarship- First preference goes to high school graduates of Decatur High School. Second preference goes to students from Morgan County.
- Earl Buren Nichols Endowed Memorial Scholarship- Applicants must be high school graduates of Clarke County.
- Chuck Norwood Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must be high school graduates of Baldwin or Choctaw County, AL concentrating in Real Estate or Marketing.
- Joe Piper Endowed C&BA Scholarship- Applicants must be dependents of Joe Piper, Inc. employees. A supplemental Employment Verification Form must be submitted for consideration.
- Tim and Sandy Schultz Russell and Bill and Irene Russell Ward Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must be high school graduates of Baldwin County, AL with a strong desire to enter government service or education.
- Sexton Foundation Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must be high school graduates of Northern Alabama. Qualifying counties include Winston, Marshall, Madison, Limestone, Lawrence, Lauderdale, Jackson, Franklin, Dekalb, Colbert, Scottsboro, Decatur, Florence, Morgan, and Cherokee.
- Paul and Carolyn Stanley Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must be a high school graduate of Mobile County, AL.
- Lucy Adams Stephens Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must reside in Montgomery County, AL.
- USS Scholarship- Applicants must be dependents of USS employees (formerly USX Corporation.)
- Elizabeth Butler Warner Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must be a Business major with a minor in Art History, Theatre, film, or other such fields that demonstrate an interest in the cultural and creative arts.
- Vaughn and Barbara Yost Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must be Engineering graduates who are pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degrees in Business, including dual Master's in Engineering and Business.
- Felice L. Zambetti Endowed Scholarship- Applicants must be high school graduates of Northern Virginia.
