SBA Counseling

Small Business Development Center Network at The University of Alabama

In today's competitive environment, the decisions a small business person makes in the beginning of their business can be critical. Helping the small business owner pilot their venture through the difficult start-up phase, and afterward, is a fundamental service of the Small Business Development Center.  At your place of business, or in our offices, center counselors can assist in a wide number of small business management areas. Our counselors can, for example:

  • assist in the preparation of a business plan and projected financial statements
  • research your potential market opportunity and possible competitors
  • outline realistic funding options for your business idea
  • guide your small business in generating and implementing possible solutions to your business' current  operational challenges.
