Selected Campus Areas

The University opened its doors to students in 1831. The President's Mansion is one of four remaining original campus structures.

Denny Chimes, built in 1929, was named after Dr. George Denny, then president of the University. The chimes, restored in 1986 as a genuine campanile carillon, ring every quarter hour and play a late afternoon concert.

University of Alabama's main Quad with Denny Chimes. The area and sidewalk around the tower have imprints of names and footprints of former UA athletes.

The Amelia Gayle Gorgas Library is the main library of the eight on-campus libraries. It is located on the quad across from Denny Chimes.

Gorgas House, built in 1829, was the first structure to be built on campus and is one of only four buildings to survive the civil war.

Ferguson Center, houses the Career Center, book store, food court, theatre, and a general information desk.

Alabama Supe Store located on the ground floor of the Ferguson Center. Students can buy books, school supplies, memorabilia and much more.

Ferguson Center Information Desk. Provides information to students, faculty, and staff regarding events.

Ferguson Center has two main dining areas inside and tables are also located outside.

The Career Center is located on the third floor of the Ferguson Center. They help students and alumni with resume writing, job searches, and job selection.

Bryant-Denny Stadium. It was named after Paul W. Bryant and Dr. George Denny.

Renovations completed in 1998 brought the seating capacity to 83,818. In addition to more seats, 81 skyboxes were constructed on two levels, and a new scoreboard with video replay capabilities was installed.
