Honors, Achievements and Affiliations:

Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Alabama, Professor Lopez was on the accounting faculty at the University of South Carolina, Georgia State University and Texas A&M University. Professor Lopez earned his PhD in accounting from Arizona State University and prior to entering academia practiced as a CPA in California. He has served on the AICPA’s Minority Initiatives Committee and is a current member of the PhD Project annual conference planning committee. Professor Lopez is published in leading accounting journals, including the Journal of Accounting and Economics, The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Accounting Auditing and Finance, and the Journal of the American Tax Association.
