Honors, Achievements and Affiliations:

Dr. Underwood has published articles in leading finance journals including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and the Jouranl of Financial Markets. He is a member of the American Finance Association, Western Finance Association, and Financial Management Association.  A 1999 graduate of the University of Alabama, Dr. Underwood earned his Ph.D. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 2004.  Prior to returning to Alabama, he served on the faculty at the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University where he taught corporate finance in the executive MBA program.  He has also taught personal finance courses for members of the NFL's Houston Texans.
