Honors, Achievements and Affiliations:
Dr. Schmidt is published in the scholarly journals of management science and production/operations management, including the top journals of these fields (Management Science, Operations Research, Mathematics of Operations Research). He is the co-author of two textbooks in management science, and has been elected to the honorary societies Sigma Xi (science) and Beta Gamma Sigma (commerce) and to the Operations Research Society of America. He is certified in production and inventory management (PIM), and in addition to his teaching and research, is actively involved with the Alabama Productivity Center.
