- Honors, Achievements and Affiliations:
- Dr. Miller has authored over 45 articles in journals such as Management Science, International Journal of Production Research, and Harvard Business Review. He is a former editorial board member and national director of the Operations Research Division of IIE. He has served on the faculty of Georgia Tech, LSU, and VPI universities and as an examiner for the national Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award. Before joining The University of Alabama, he served as corporate productivity director for the Ethyl Corporation. He currently holds the position of director of the Alabama Productivity Center, and is a fellow in the World Academy of Productivity Sciences. As Center director, he oversees 15 or more applied research projects with Alabama firms each semester, such as Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, US Pipe, Russell, Steel Case, Cavalier Homes, and smaller firms such as Smith's Machines.
