Financial Aid
All doctoral students who do not have financial support from some other organization receive full financial support, including full tuition. The current minimum stipend is $13,500 for the 9-month academic year for a graduate teaching or research assistantship. Most of these appointments are as Teaching Assistants; however, some students have the opportunity to work as Research Assistants at the Alabama Productivity Center. Other fellowships and scholarships are also available that provide a 9-month stipend between $14,000 and $19,000. In addition, most students are eligible for an annual scholarship from the College of Commerce & Business Administration of around $2,000. Most doctoral students also have opportunities to earn additional support during the summer by teaching or working on industrial or government sponsored projects. In order to receive full consideration for financial support, students should submit all of their application materials by December 1.
