Marketing

Marketing involves, and is integrated with, most activities that occur in businesses and other types of organizations. Marketing professionals often are involved in conducting and/or using marketing research or information to understand customers' needs and the competitive landscape of the market.

The Marketing Department offers programs at the Undergraduate, Master's, and Ph.D. Level, each tailored to the needs of students at that level.  Each is described briefly below.

Undergraduate Programs

Marketing is an exciting and interesting career option that has strong income potential.  A degree in marketing can lead to exciting career advancement opportunities since a large percentage of top managers and CEOs come from marketing and sales.  Marketing is diverse enough to capture the interest and talents of many people.  Career paths include brand management, sales and sales management, supply chain management, retailing, advertising, marketing information systems, and marketing research.  UA marketing grads have landed jobs with P & G, Lilly, Dell, Home Depot, Saks Fifth Avenue, Maersk, Philip Morris, Federated, Wal-Mart, to name just a few.  Our internship program provides students with domestic and international opportunities to hone their skills and gain valuable experience prior to graduation.  And our faculty and staff are dedicated to helping students got the most out of their time at UA.

In addition to our marketing major which provides training for a general marketing career, our specializations offer majors and non-majors a way to build and tailor their skill sets to a specific area of marketing.  Our specializations are as follows:
