The University of Alabama's MIS program is distinctly different from other programs due to the real projects that students work on. Instead of having fictional scenario's that students solve problems for, the MIS program aims to find real world problems that students can solve. This both prepares the student for experiences they will encounter after leaving college, as well as teaches the student how to work through problems in an effective manner so these same techniques can be applied in a job after graduation.
This is an opportunity to get "Real Experience." The MIS classes are set up to model a business environment, with students working on actual projects for real clients. The real experience received at the University is invaluable. You learn live project management skills (facilitating project activities, processes, and key deliverables), improve your mentoring skills (provide feedback, insight, and 360-degree evaluations), and you are prepared to work in corporate America.
