    A day during the second week for a second-year Alabama MBA Student

    9:00 a.m.
    Began the day with a few quick errands, picking up some groceries and returning a movie to Movie Gallery.
    11:00 a.m.

    Reviewed team's resumes and marked feedback to give to them at this evening's meeting.

    12:00 p.m.
    Quick lunch with friends at City Cafe.

    1:00 p.m.
    Reviewed recent action items completed by team and sent email with feedback to each team member.

    2:00 p.m.

    Took a brief break and watched TV for a few minutes before heading to campus, to the rec. center for a quick workout.

    3:30 p.m.

    Class today:  We had a professional development presentation on networking within the corporate world.

    4:30 p.m.

    We broke from class to work in our teams. Today I met with each individual and reviewed their resume to work with them on creating their professional development goals for the semester.

    6:00 p.m.

    Status meeting with our faculty sponsor to review progress on our project and current issues we are facing.

    6:30 p.m.

    Went home for dinner break, and picked up some coffee before returning to the lab for a team working session.

    8:00 p.m.

    Worked with team to prepare questions for client interview the following morning.

    10:00 p.m.
    Left lab for the night to go relax then head to bed.

    Middle of Second Year


    A mid-year day for a second-year Alabama MBA Student

    8:00 a.m.

    Met team at the lab for a teleconference with the project client, Lowe's

    9:30 a.m.

    Reviewed action items from teleconference and assigned responsibilities to the team members.

    10:00 a.m.

    Job interview at the career center with Procter and Gamble

    12:00 p.m.

    Lunch at home.

    2:00 p.m.

    Got to the lab to prepare for afternoon class and team working session.

    3:30 p.m.

    Class:  We watched a peer's presentation on their project background and status.

    4:00 p.m.

    Team working session, reviewed teams progress towards professional development goals and got updates from team members on their personal job searches.  Allowed team to break up and work on action items from this mornings teleconference.

    6:00 p.m.

    Status meeting with our faculty sponsor to review progress on our project and current issues we are facing.

    6:30 p.m.

    AIMS meeting, Accenture came and spoke about their corporate environment and job possibilities they have for the coming months.

    7:30 p.m.

    Dinner provided after the AIMS meeting and an opportunity to network with some consultants from Accenture.

    7:30 p.m.

    Headed home for the evening and relax with some friends.

    A day at the end of an Alabama MBA's second-year.

    9:00 a.m.

    Picked up cap and gown

    10:00 a.m.

    Team meeting:  Final run through of project closeout presentation to the client.

    12:00 p.m.

    Lunch break with team

    1:00 p.m.

    Traveled to client site in Birmingham, AL

    2:00 p.m.

    Brief tour and casual interaction with the client

    3:00 p.m.

    Project closeout presentation to client

    4:00 p.m.

    Traveled back to Tuscaloosa, AL

    5:00 p.m.

    Picked up dinner, then had a brief meeting with team to discuss pluses and deltas of the presentation.

    6:00 p.m.

    Assigned responsibilities for cleaning up the project repository and documentation.

    9:00 p.m.

    Celebrated with the team.
