Boot-camp

Before starting the summer boot camp, the Enterprise Consulting program students will work on a project to further enhance their project management, project life-cycle, and team building skills. The pre-boot camp project will involve working with a live client from an outside company.

Last summer, our students had the opportunity to work on the development of Blackbelt Treasures, a government funded project aimed at promoting local artists in the Blackbelt region of Alabama. Students in the MBA-MIS program worked side-by-side with the staff and grantors to plan both the physical store and its online counterpart.

Immediately after completing the first year in the MBA program, students begin a three-week course that is the educational equivalent of combat training. The boot camp is patterned after new-hire training programs at companies like Accenture and Ernst & Young. During this time, students work intensively on telecommunications, programming, database management, and project management, as well as participating in projects for real companies.
