Double Master's Degrees:
The MBA-MIS/Consulting and
the M.S. in Enterprise Integration

The Enterprise Consulting Double Master's Degrees Program provides opportunities to achieve the successes that previous graduates of the UA-MBA program have realized at consulting firms and Fortune 500 firms throughout the country. The program is market driven, focusing on the intersection of the people, process, and technology skills that are highly sought in industry today. Students with diverse backgrounds and a variety of undergraduate majors become experienced in project management on teams that provide consulting services with real value and consequences to corporate clients. This approach allows students to develop the knowledge and experience that will enable them to excel immediately upon entering the business world and throughout their careers.

The program's core focus is the design and delivery of business solutions with an emphasis on project management. In order to ensure that students develop these core competencies to a nationally competitive level, the program employs an active 'learn by doing' approach that includes working with corporate partners, managing a team of undergraduates, and learning to utilize basic information technology. Each Enterprise Consulting student manages a project from conceptualization through development to delivery. During the first year, students' coursework prepares them to be paired with partner corporations that provide summer internships. During these internships, each student is coached by a faculty member in the development of a business case; that is, each intern analyzes an opportunity to define a project within the company. The intern then develops a business case that includes a project's scope, business value, resource needs, timeline and budget. After selling the project to the corporate partner, the intern becomes the project's manager and is charged with successful project completion. Frequently, the MBA candidate continues to work on summer projects with a team of undergraduate students throughout the second year, providing a hands-on opportunity to motivate, inspire, and lead others, an essential aspect of project management.
