Dr. Hogan is a Clinical Professor at The University of Alabama where he teaches two courses: Data Communications and Networking to about 40 juniors a semester and Development and Project Management to about 70 senior and master students per semester. For the senior courses, Dr. Hogan reviews each project’s deliverables and communications the teams engage in with clients to ensure the students get the most professional experience possible and the client receives a product that will add value to their company.

Professional Experience

Dr. Hogan began his career as in Instructor and Division Director in the Naval Nuclear Power Program in the fall of 1974 where he taught courses in the basic principles related to Nuclear Power Plant Operation.

Upon leaving the Navy in 1979, Dr. Hogan joined Fiber Industries, a subsidiary of Celanese where he became a Process Engineer and was involved in process automation and enhancement activities for continuous polymerization systems. Bob became Systems Supervisor for the Darlington facility in 1982.

Dr. Hogan then went to Systems Co-ordination Inc., a company that specializes in software and staffing support for large plant facility maintenance operations. As the General Manager of Technology, his team developed and marketed the “Champs” CMMS system. As part of his duties, Dr. Hogan conducted international symposiums on maintenance enhancements techniques and authored several articles on conducting maintenance self audits and pre-assessments for transitioning to automated maintenance management systems.

Dr. Hogan has about twenty years of field related experience from Russell Athletic where he has held the following positions:

    ·         Director of Operations and Logistics
    ·         Director of Business Strategy

Honors, Achievements, and Affiliations

  • 1999-2002 University of North Carolina, Kenan-Flagler Executive Education Program, Leadership Conference I, II, III.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black-belt in Project Management. Course conducted by Greene and Association for Fruit of the Loom.
  • Served on the Advisory Board of the CIM Certificate program at Georgia Tech as an MIS Forum Member, an industry advisory group, for The University of Alabama MIS Program.
