The faculty creates, disseminates, teaches and applies leading IS development practices motivated by adding business value. Through partnering with industry, the faculty lead rigorous projects that produce real results that impact the IS profession. The faculty engages in a diverse set of innovative projects including: enterprise integration, human-computer collaborative systems, project management, database management systems, mobile B2C applications, application architecture, component-based software development, manufacturing systems, systems learning, intellectual property commercialization, and mitigating the digital divide.

Funded by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the State of Alabama, and corporate partners, the faculty advances knowledge in the field of information systems through basic research, then tests the impact of their efforts in real situations, with real consequences.
