Departmental Financial Support
Most students receive support through departmental assistantships. These stipends begin at about $14,000 with a full tuition grant for a full time (FTE award) student. The awards involve nine-month assignments as either a research and/or teaching assistant. The program currently in place provides tuition for full funding for up to four years (contingent on yearly renewal based on satisfactory performance). Students are expected to spend two years as a research assistant (typically the first two years in the program) and two years as a teaching assistant (typically the last two years in the program). All students are expected to develop basic proficiencies as both researchers and teachers during the program. Summer teaching assignments are also possible, when available, at a compensation of $2,500 per class.
Additional one-year recruiting fellowships are offered through the College on a competitive basis. These fellowships range from $2,500 to $4,000 and are used to supplement the above mentioned fellowships and assistantships. Thus, the full package would range from $15,000 to $21,000 in funds depending on the level of college support and summer teaching of one or two classes. This amount is in addition to full coverage of tuition. Students with high GMAT (>650) or GRE (>1300) scores may be eligible for additional monies which could bring a stipend up to $25,000.
Students who are accepted into our program are automatically considered eligible for fellowships and assistantships. The student need not apply separately for these awards. Students admitted to our program will be on full departmental support as part of their packages.
