Current Students

Entering 2007 Ph.D. Students

Chenwei Li is from Wenzhou, China. She received her Bachelor of Law from Nankai University, Tianjin and her master degree of Law from Peking University, Beijing. She has worked in Wenzhou government as an intern. For the past few years, her research projects have been involved in the areas of corporate culture, Chinese traditional culture, and other interdisciplinary subjects. Her current areas of interest are in organization behavior, human enterprise culture, and human resource managment.

David Nobleis is from Greensboro, NC. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. After graduating from the University of Miami School of Law, David practiced law in New York and North Carolina. David's research interests include leadership, decision making and law firm management.

Entering 2006 Ph.D. Students

  • Ericka R. Lawrence has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Montevallo and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Before enrolling in the doctoral program, she worked as a certified public accountant for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for six years.  Her research interests are in the field of organization behavior, with a focus on business ethics and human resource management. 

  • Anthony Robinson is from Queens, NY but has traveled extensively spending time in various places such as Germany, England, France, Sweden, Japan and a number of states in the U.S. He has received a B.S. in Business Administration from Augusta State University, an MBA from Old Dominion University and an M.S. in Organizational Development/Change from Georgia State University. He has presented at the Academy of Management and at the Strategic Management Society conferences. His practical experience includes several years in operations management and in consulting at the managerial levels. His current research interests consist of strategy to include entrepreneurship and international management.

Entering 2005 Ph.D. Students

  • KeKe "CoCo" Wu is from Shantou, a southern Chinese harbor city. Upon her graduation from the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (1996-2000, Guangzhou, China) she was offered a position at China Telecommunication Corp. where she served as a manager for the business-user market for about six months before leaving China for her graduate studies in the United States. Since then she has received her master’s degree in Business Administration (2001-2002) and a second masters in Software Engineering (2002-2005) from Jacksonville State University in Alabama.

Entering 2004 Ph.D. Students

  • Brian Collins is originally from Cleveland, OH, but has lived in many different areas of the country. He received his B.S. in mechanical engineering technology from Purdue University and an MBA from UNC Charlotte.  Before returning for his doctorate, he worked as an engineer and program manager in the automotive industry. His current areas of interest are in Organizational Behavior with a specific interest in why people do the things they do, with the hope of creating better organizations and helping individuals improve their lives.
  • Brian Nagy is from Dyer, Indiana. He has his B.S. in operations management and his MBA from Indiana University. He has worked in the manufacturing and information technology fields. His research interests encompass a wide array of topics including impression management tactics and strategic alliances.
  • Qian Xiao's hometown is Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, P.R.China. She has a B.A. in International Trade and an M.S. in Enterprise Management, both from Southwest Jiaotong University, in China. She taught economics and management related courses in China for three years, has co-authored a book Fundamentals of WTO (China), has several journal publications (China) and was assistant editor and foreword co-author of Advances in Health Care Management Volume 5 (U.S.). Her research interests include corporate strategy, organizational theory, as well as health care management.                  

Entering 2003 Ph.D. Students

  • Joshua Reece Aaron is originally from Knoxville, TN and lived in the east Tennessee area before coming to The University of Alabama. He graduated from Lenoir City High School in 1997.  He has a BS (2001) and an MBA (2003) from the University of Alabama.  He worked at Ernst and Young, LLP in Birmingham, AL in 2001. He also held a position as a sportswriter for the Loudon County (TN) News Herald from 1995-1998 and wrote for the Crimson White newspaper (1998-1999).
Entering 2002 Ph.D. Students
  • Regina "Gina" Simpson is a native Alabamian who graduated from Winfield High School in 1990. She received her B.A. degree in Small Company Management & Entrepreneurship from the University of Alabama in December, 2001. She and her husband Mark are co-entrepreneurs of Gilco Contracting, Inc. Gina's research interests surround trust, volunteerism, and entrepreneurship within the field of organization behavior.
