Master's Degree Program
The management degree is a 30 credit hour program designed for line managers, mid-level supervisors, administrators, and human resource managers. Its primary mission is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge required to effectively manage the human resources of an organization. The practicing manager who graduates from the program will be trained to solve the growing array of problems faced by organizations functioning in an increasingly competitive, resource-strained environment. The program has been designed to address the needs of both the HR manager and the functional manager desiring additional skill in employee management.
The courses reflect the current state of management theory and practice and were developed with the input of industry leaders. Courses such as Strategic Human Resources Management, Performance Management, Research Methods, and Change Management provide opportunities for students to develop skills in areas vital to organizational effectiveness.
The program is designed to be flexible. Degree programs can be designed that focus on specialized areas, for example, health care administration, small business management, or international business. Courses are offered in the evening to accommodate the schedule of full-time employees. Most students complete the program in two and a half years.
