LERA/Bama Conference 2006-2007

By Carolyn M. Rhodes

“The speakers were on target and informative. I will share hand outs at the union meetings,” says Joe Pledger, International Representative of IBEW – 5th district. Doug Marshall is hoping to “round up” new members at the Northwest Alabama Society for HRM.

Judi King, CLEAR-UAB (Alabama Chapter President-Elect), was impressed with our LERA National President, David Lipsky’s presentation, “The Arbitration Profession in Transition.”

“Our organization includes a unique and diverse membership within the labor and employment relations field,” says Talmage Reynolds, Director of Contractor Industrial Labor Relations, NASA.

The Alabama Chapter-LERA celebrated its twenty-first year this past September. It was a successful get together! All members are looking forward to the upcoming dinner meetings and luncheons.

The Hilton Garden Inn at Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Florida provides great service, poolside relaxation and white sandy beaches. Some of the participants even came a day before or stayed a day later for a little R&R. It was sunny and warm. Professor Ed Arnold added, “We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend.”

Our special thanks go to Dennis Gibson for the great photos.
