Actuarial Sciences

Actuarial science is a perennial “best job” for those with a curious mind and a
quantitative bent. As a student specializing in Actuarial Science you will take important steps toward certification by one of the major actuarial societies. You will take the necessary calculus courses, pass verification of educational experience requirements, and prepare for two actuarial examinations. As an actuary you will join an elite group that estimates the probability of future events, develops ideas for coping with unexpected losses, and helps shape the way society deals with risk. Actuarial science offers a wide variety of career paths and is consistent with many attractive lifestyles. As an actuary you may work in a small town, a city, or jet around the world to exotic locations.
