Alabama Finance Association
The AFA promotes interaction of the academic and business worlds by bringing to campus speakers from around the country. Participation in the association helps students develop leadership skills, in addition to providing them opportunities to exchange ideas with leaders of the financial community. Any student in terested in Finance may join.
Alpha Kappa Psi
Nationally established in 1904, Alpha Kappa Psi is the oldest and largest national coeducational professional business fraternity. Originally established at UA in 1924, it was rechartered by a national effort in 1997. AKPsi members sponsor career building seminars which allows networking with business leaders. Membership is for business majors with a minimum 2.50 GPA.
Alpha Sigma Gamma (Real Estate)
The Alabama Center for Real Estate sponsors the Alpha Sigma Gamma International Real Estate Honor Society, the only international organization for the recognition of real esate student excellence in the world. To be inducted into the real estate society,one must have completed at least six hours of real estate classes, have a 3.5 GPA overall and a 3.7 GPA in all completed real estate courses. Most students are inducted the last semester of their senior year.
Beta Gamma Sigma
Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International. Membership is available to the top 7% of the junior class, the top 10% of the senior class, the top 20% of the graduate class, and to all PHD students.
Delta Sigma Pi
Delta Sigma Pi is the national professional commerce fraternity. The objectives of the fraternity are to encourage scholarship, professional spirit, good fellowship and high ethical standards among its members and to advance the interests of the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration and of the University. Criteria for membership are a 2.5 GPA and demonstrated leadership.
Health Care Management Society
HCMS promotes the interaction of health care management students and practitioners throughout the Southeast. The HCMS and the HCM Program are affiliated with the American College of Health Care Executives and the Medical Group Management Association. Any student interested in health care may join.
Net Impact
Net Impact is a membership organization that brings UA MBAs, graduate students and young professionals together to network, learn and take action on socially-responsible business issues. We are students seeking to network and take action to foster a new generation of leaders who use the power of business to create a better world. Rho Epsilon Real Estate Fraternity
Rho Epsilon Real Estate Fraternity is sponsored by the Alabama Center for Real Estate. This student organization is open to all undergraduate, graduate and alumni with an interest in real estate. Our goal is to promote professional excellence through communication between the academic and business communities, to assist students in the transition into real estate careers, and to develop future leaders in the real estate industry.
This is accomplished through monthly meetings with speakers from the real estate community, other networking opportunities, and assistance obtaining active learning experiences, such as field trips and internships.
WIT - Woman in Information Technology
Women in IT is a student organization aimed at motivating, inspiring, and supporting women in information technology related fields. While this organization is focused on women, anyone is welcome to join. WIT members participate in monthly meetings and activities focused on professional development, outreach, community service, team building, and social skills. Started in the Fall of 2005, this organization is still setting its foundation and growing rapidly towards its goals.
