Business Honors Program
Purpose and Goals
The C&BA Business Honors Program (BHP) provides opportunities for outstanding C&BA undergraduates to enrich their business education. The program emphasizes class presentations by students, faculty, business leaders, and campus recruiters as well as independent research and project work over two years of undergraduate study.
Students may enter the BHP in the junior year. To be eligible for admission, a student must have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average or higher and be admitted to the College's Upper Division. A completed application is required to be considered for admission.
Program Structure
The BHP is comprised of an Upper Division program. Approximately 25-30 students will be admitted annually. The classes will require projects, presentations, research, and other activities designed to provide an advanced academic experience in the College.
Upper Division BHP students will enroll each semester in 1.5 hour BHP seminars each semester. Students who complete all four sections will earn six (6) hours of Honors class credit in the Upper Division program. These honors credits can be counted towards University Honors Program requirements. Those who complete the two-year program will graduate with Business Honors recognition.
Business Honors students participate in weekly one-hour seminars held in room 121 Bidgood Hall. These sessions feature meetings with outstanding faculty and business leaders and discussions about business and economic issues. The seminars are coordinated by the Business Honors Faculty:
