On-Campus Recruiting

Recruiters hold interviews on campus during the fall and spring semesters. At the beginning of each semester, a recruiting schedule is available to students listing the employers who are scheduled to recruit on campus. A pre-selection system allows employers to review the available pool of candidates prior to their arrival on campus. The Career Library provides information, that can assist in all stages of the career development process. The Library maintains the Career Center's website that includes job postings and resume access. Qualified employers may establish an account through the Career Center's website (www.career.ua.edu) to post job notices or retrieve resumes. The Sylvester Jones Resource Center houses numerous publications listing job openings, employer directories, occupational information binders, computerized job search networks, and information on matters such as career change/career choice, graduate/professional schools, internships/summer jobs, and international opportunities.

Many events are held which allow a large number of students and employers to come together at one time. These events include the Career Fairs, Graduate & Professional School Day, Employer Panels and Mock Interview Day.

Programs and Seminars

Each semester students can attend programs on resume writing, dining etiquette, networking, salary negotiations, job search strategy, and other career related topics.
